September Happy Hour
Join PDX T1D for our September happy hour at Victoria Bar in North Portland!
We’ll gather for good drinks, good food, and the kind of judgment-free conversation that makes our T1D community special. Victoria’s big neighborhood-bar feel, creative cocktails, mostly vegan menu, and heated patio make it a great spot to hang out, catch up, and welcome new faces. Come say hi and bring your fellow diabadasses!

Breakthrough T1D Walk
Join us at the Breakthrough T1D Walk, the largest global event for the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community! Every step powers research, advocacy, and support to improve lives while driving toward cures.
This family-friendly event welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to raise T1D awareness and move us closer to a world without T1D.

October Happy Hour
Come get cozy and a little adventurous with PDX T1D at the Boiler Room inside Kennedy School!
Hidden behind an unassuming hallway door, this multi-level former boiler room is packed with character, plus pool, shuffleboard, a jukebox, and plenty of McMenamins drinks and pub food.
Join your fellow T1Ds for a relaxed night of conversation, laughs, and community — no diabetes small talk required, but always welcome!
November Event - Birdie Time Mini Golf!
It’s time to tee up another PDX T1D happy hour! Join us at Birdie Time in SE Portland for a laid-back night of drinks, conversation, sports, games, and optional mini golf.
With its playful “adult playground” vibe, full bar, and mini golf course, Birdie Time is the perfect place to get together with fellow T1Ds, meet new people, and have a little fun outside the usual routine. Mini golf is optional; hanging out is mandatory!
December Happy Hour - SPECIAL DATE
Celebrate the season with PDX T1D at Lucky Labrador’s Quimby Beer Hall!
This laid-back Portland beer hall is all about bringing people together over handcrafted beer, simple satisfying food, and an unpretentious atmosphere — basically a pretty perfect setting for our crew.
We are hosting a special second-Monday December happy hour, so come raise a glass, catch up with old friends, meet some new ones, and celebrate making it through another year of life with T1D.
August Happy Hour
Join us in August for our monthly Third Thursday happy hour! This month we’re headed back to NW for a familiar haunt, North 45! We’ll gather at 7, but feel free to come early to capitalize on happy hour pricing.

Join us for a Portland Pickles game next month! Gates open at 6pm with the game starting shortly after 7pm. Buy your tickets early before they sell out. Select the Left Berm at checkout to sit with us.

Peacock Pride Happy Hour
Join us in June for our monthly Third Thursday happy hour! This month we’re headed to SE to check out the new Peacock bar in the former Crush bar space! We’ll gather at 7, but feel free to come early to utilize happy hour pricing.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a show inside and, as a result, we are planning to meet outside on 14th. There is an artistic overhang so, even if it rains, the area is covered. Please plan accordingly.

Radio (Happy) Hour
Calling all diabadasses!
Summer is (almost) here and if we plan a rooftop patio meetup… well, chances are it’s going to rain. But as Portlanders, we can’t let that hold us back! Radio Room will be our May venue and they have both a rooftop and covered patio, so either way we’ve got our bases covered.
Join us at 7pm and we’ll go for a few hours!

Sad//Happy Hour
Don’t be Sad! It’s time for April’s Happy Hour.
Sad Valley is a whimsical disco death bar in NE Portland. We’ll set up shop around 7pm and go until people burn out (it is a school night, after all). It may be sad, but we think this bar serves as a great representation of the optimism our group has about our diagnoses.
Breakthrough T1D Portland Hope Gala 2026
The 2026 Breakthrough T1D Portland Hope Gala brings together community leaders, families, and supporters for an inspiring evening dedicated to advancing research and improving the lives of those affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). Guests will enjoy a night of elegance with cocktail receptions, premier auctions, and a moving Fund A Cure program, all while celebrating progress and fueling the mission to turn Type 1 into Type None. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we continue to raise critical funds that drive groundbreaking research and bring us closer to cures.

We have created a new Breakthrough T1D group called T1DPNW for community support for any adult living in the PNW with T1D. We welcome any adults who are interested in having more meaningful interactions on a diabetes-related topics they face. We have a monthly meet-up (online monthly, in-person quarterly) with lightly facilitated topics for discussion like technology, managing basal and bolus, research, and more. We love welcoming new members to our discussion!
This meeting has a 7:00pm PT option along with a bonus lunchtime (12:00pm PT) option!

DiabetesSangha Meditation Retreat
On Saturday, January 17, DiabetesSangha hosting their first hybrid retreat: a one-day mindfulness retreat that you can attend in person or online via Zoom, led by Sam Tullman. There is the added flexibility to join for a full day or a half day, depending on what works best for you.
